Iuna

Decidí que quería ser musher de un dia para otro coincidiendo con una de las ediciones de Pirena. Me puse manos a la obra y busqué un perro con el que iniciarme. Quería un nórdico porque era el perro diseñado para ello y por supuesto quería adoptarlo porque siempre he sido muy consciente de la cantidad de perros abandonados que hay en nuestro país. No necesitaba que fuese de pura raza asi pero si quería que fuese cachorro. Pensé que siendo cachorro tendría yo mas fácil el educarle aunque luego la expereincia me demostró que con respeto y cariño cualquier perro de cualquier edad aprende lo que sea.

Asi conocí La Sonrisa Nórdica. Busqué y rebusqué entre las muchas fotos que alli había, pero siempre llegaba tarde para adoptar un cachorro asi que abrí mas horizontes. Finalmente localicé unas personas que necesitaban deshacerse del ultimo cachorro que les quedaba de una camada que habían vendido porque se estaba haciendo mayor y cada vez tenia menos posibilidades de que alguien lo quiesiera.

Cogi a Iuna casi con cuatro meses y pagué los gastos veterinarios y de manutención que les había ocasionado a estos chicos.

Iuna se estrenó en mushing en la carrera de Monegros de 2008 y esta temporada promete, es una muy buena perra leader.

I decided to be a musher from one day to another once I had been watching in TV the Pirena race, the most important mushing race in Spain. I started looking for a dog with whom I could practice this sport as my small daschunde wasn't very appropiate. I wanted a nordic breed dog because it is the dog that humans had created for this purpose but I didn't mind if it was pure breed, I only wanted it to be a puppy as I thought it would be easier to educate it. Lately I found that with love and respect any dog any age can learn. I wanted to adopt the dog because I have always been very sensible to the problem that we have in our country with the huge amount of abandoned animals and this is how I found out The Nordic Smile (La Sonirsa Nordica) a web site dedicated to the adoption of nordic breed dogs. I looked and lookd thorugh the pages and photographs of the dogs but I always was late to adopt a puppy. Finally I found a pair who had puppys and had been solding them and they had a spare one who was getting big and no one wanted. I paid for the veterinarian costs.

Iuna was nearly 4 months when she arrived home she was a rookie last year in a race called Monegros 2008 and she is a very good promise for this season. She is a very good lead dog.
